We are forming a speakers bureau where local business and individuals may use our facilities to present on various green topics, and we are excited to announce our first speaker.

On Thursday, June 19th at 7:00 PM, Matt Murray with GreenAcres Market will be at the GreenZone conference room to give a talk on organic and locally-produced food.

Our first group to use the Honda Green Zone, Farmer’s Insurance, brought 32 agents in for a 3 hours monthly sales meeting. District manager Jon Horning and his wife Patty coordinated the meeting. They are also both proud owners of a new 2008 Accord they purchased at the first of the year. They enjoyed the openness of the room and the recycled aspect of the room appealed to them as well.

Scholfield Honda is one of the official Recycling Sponsors of this year’s RiverFest. In one of our Green Team meetings, internet sale consultant Sebastian Zahr recommended that we partner with The RiverFest to help clean up before and after the event. As a dealer, Honda lets you sign up each year and partner with an organization called Clean Up America to help lead local clean up initiatives. I’m proud to say that Scholfield Honda was one of approximately 165 Honda dealers across the country who signed up and made significant efforts to help clean up their cities.

Honda has been involved with Keep America Beautiful for 4 years now, bringing a competitive spirit to a worthy cause. Honda has designed the Road to a Cleaner America contest and has had outstanding success. More than 160 Honda dealers nationwide have participated to help beautify the streets.

Scholfield Honda has volunteered to be the Honda representative for the Wichita Area. We have partnered with Wichita River Festival to help them win one of the following categories:

December 2007 Scholfield Honda in cooperation with Kansas Gas Service and Fahnestock HVAC donated a 2007 Civic GX, Natural Gas powered Civic to the Greensburg GreenTown rebuilding organization. We have our new conference room, The Honda Green Zone, now open. This multi-purpose room will serve several functions. It will be used as a corporate training room. We will conduct all of our corporate employee orientations there. Our Scholfield Honda Green Team members will meet there on a monthly basis. The most exciting aspect of its use to me is opening it up to the public.
